Featured Friday: Feel Teal Club
Topic: Featured Friday

Today's featured site is a wonderfully built site all based around a great cause! The Feel Teal Club focuses on raising awareness for Ovarian cancer, a disease that while just as present in the lives of women everywhere as breast cancer, doesn't get the same level of awareness worldwide.

Debbie has created an incredible supportive environment for those with cancer and those who have loved ones battling cancer. At feeltealclub.com you can learn more about Ovarian cancer as well as learn about the Titans of Teal campaign.

Visit feeltealclub.com to learn more and show your support today!

Featured Friday: Brown County Breakdown
Topic: Featured Friday

Although it is just the start of January, I am already excited for the fall. The changing colors of the leaves, the brisk temperatures (not the chilling cold!), and it's the perfect time for fun outdoor activities... like riding bikes! The Brown County Breakdown "isn't a race, it's just a great ride in the woods with a few hundred of your closest friends." The bike ride is held at Brown County State Park near Nashville, Indiana and has a full weekend of events planned.

Brown County Breakdown

You can see all the highlights of last year's event on the website as well as see the schedule for the upcoming year (although you have to wait until October for the Brown County Breakdown!). Check out Brown County Breakdown at browncountymountainbiking.com/breakdown/.

If you want to see your site highlighted here next week, submit it at spotlight-site.tripod.com

Featured Friday: Kustali Mastiffs
Topic: Featured Friday

Today’s Featured Friday Site is Kustali Mastiffs. Based out of Western Australia, this family owned company has been in business since 2008 and they take great pride in their “gentle giants”.

The site is tailored to help you decide if the Mastiff would be the right dog for you and even a form to let them know you would be interested in a puppy from the upcoming litter. The photos clearly show the how beautiful these dogs are but also where the term “giant” comes from. Check out the site today at KustaliMastiffs.com!

ALSO: You can now vote for the site of the month for December at siteofthemonth.tripod.com! Will it be the Kustali Mastiffs or one of your favorites from the past few weeks? You decide!

Featured Friday: KimberlyJessup.com
Topic: Featured Friday

This website was created by Kimberly Jessup's loving friends and family who wanted to have a destination for people to come together to remember the amazing life she led and for people who want to get more information about Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and the scholarship that was created in honor of her memory at North Carolina State University.

As the note on the website says... "this is a great way to honor a person that has given so much to so many. Kim had so much more left to give to us and to this world. I think it now becomes our responsibility to carry on for her."

We strongly recommend visiting the website to learn more about Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and Kim's endowment. Any donation to the fund helps!

Visit the site at KimberlyJessup.com.

Featured Friday: Whit Greene's Projects
Topic: Featured Friday

Whit Greene has created fun and imaginative projects that he is sharing on his website, whitgreene.tripod.com. You can see how he has modified the loveable favorite, Teddy Ruxpin, see other "Worlds of Wonder" projects, and even contact him if you need help restoring one of your own projects.

Keep an eye on Whit's site as we near the holiday season because Christmas projects will be showing up soon! Whit's website is nicely designed and all of his projects are presented in a visually appealing way. The amount of information on each page is perfect because it doesn't overwhelm the visitor, but it makes you want to continue exploring the rest of the website.

Featured Friday: Center for Cretaceous Studies
Topic: Featured Friday

Center for Cretaceous Studies is a premier destination for learning and discovering the many amazing aspects of living dinosaurs.  You heard that right, valuable research is currently being conducted on our living and breathing Cretaceous friends and this site brings all that valuable knowledge to your finger tips.

The C4CS site really helps you gain a better understanding of all the hard work and effort that goes into Dinosaur Behavioral Studies. The site is full of helpful tips if you were to ever encounter a dinosaur so be sure to take notes.  Take a trip to their facility so you can check out the indoor dinosaur paddocks or make a romantic dinner reservation at the Kretaceous Kitchen.  Though I recommend you get your affairs in order if it becomes a one-way vacation!

Also C4CS has some great historical photos that detail the organization's early days under the amazing leadership of Dr. S. Beckmann.  Plus in the photo section check out Sam and Sue, the largest Tyrannosaurus Rex - they are quite impressive!  After you visit their Gift Shoppe, I recommend you sign up to join in on a Dino-Dig - it sounds like an exeperience of a lifetime!

Check out Center for Cretaceous Studies today!

Featured Friday: David Quintanilla
Topic: Featured Friday

David Quintanilla is a popular southwestern photographer and owner of David Quntanilla Haus of Photography. His work is exciting, colorful, beautiful, and inspiring. He has photographed many influential people and famous celebrities but also does wedding photography, quinceaneras, and advertising work.

David's website is fun and bursting with color. Navigate through the different pages to see the print work he's done, his exhibits, mentions of him in the press and videos, and also read a short bio.

One thing you should definitely check out on David's site is his campaign that he started: Boycott Hate. He photographs people for free in support of the campaign. The campaign protests the controversial law that was passed in Arizona that enabled law enforcement to ask anyone for documentation of legal status just based on their discretion.

Check out David's exciting web design as well as all of his work at davidquintanilla.com.

Featured Friday: Lance Vallis
Topic: Featured Friday

Ever wanted to learn how to play the guitar? This Featured Friday site can actually help you do so! I've dabbled in playing the guitar since my teenage years but I always absorbed the most when I had someone teach me either one on one or in a class environment. Lance Vallis teaches guitar out of Portland, OR but if you live anywhere else, don't fret (no guitar pun intended!) - he can teach you over Skype!

You can browse Lance's site to find videos and tabs, perfect for someone just learning how to play the guitar. Additionally, learn more about Lance and his career through videos and a bio on his About Me page, read his thoughts on his blog, and catch a show by seeing the list of his upcoming gigs (you do have to see gigs in person, no Skyping in!). Lance's site is great for anyone who appreciates guitars and music in general. His design is simple, easily navigated, and matches his content. If you are at all interested in taking lessons from Lance, you can purchase lessons one at a time or in a group of 4 to save money!

Check out Lance's website at LanceVallis.com and submit your website to be featured next week at spotlight-site.tripod.com
